The Vision Council has announced the promotion of Ashley Mills as its new chief executive, effective Nov. 1, and of Greg Chavez as executive vice president in charge of operations and memberships. Mills replaces Mike Daley, who has retired, although he will continue to work with the organization until Dec. 1, in order to ensure a seamless transition. Mills has more than 20 years' experience in trade association management. He joined The Vision Council as the vice president of trade shows and meetings in January. He had previously served as The Vision Council's director of marketing and shows, from 2003 to 2006. He has served as director of communications for the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation, and held marketing roles at The Council on Foundations and Scenery Productions. As for Chavez, he has contributed to grow the membership of The Vision Council from 80 to more than 750 members in the 13 years that he has worked for the American organization. He has been particularly active also in the areas of statistics, industry standards and government and regulatory affairs.
