Think About Your Eyes has hired Jane Balek as executive director, effective Nov. 5. Most recently, she served as executive director of the School Nutrition Foundation. Prior to that, she was the deputy executive director of the National Association for Music Education, where she was responsible for marketing, communications, business development, partnerships and sponsorships. She concurrently served as chief executive and executive director of the Give a Note Foundation, where she organized six national awareness campaigns supported by companies such as 20th Century Fox, Radio Disney and Nintendo. Think About Your Eyes is a national public awareness campaign in the U.S., presented by The Vision Council and the American Optometric Association, which aims at educating the public on the benefits of vision health and the importance of getting an annual comprehensive eye exam.
