Thomas Spitzenpfeil is set to leave Carl Zeiss' executive board, where he is serving as the group's chief financial officer and chief information officer with many responsibilities, including the supervision of the group's sales and service companies in Austria, Eastern Europe, the Nordics, Switzerland and the U.K. He joined the group as CFO in 2010. While looking for his successor, Zeiss' supervisory board has asked him to stay on if possible until the end of his current mandate next Sept. 30. Meanwhile, Karl Lamprecht and Jochen Peter, who head up Zeiss' Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology segment and its Industrial Metrology unit, have been admitted to the executive board from Jan. 1. Matthias Metz, head of the Vision Care & Consumer Products division, is already a member of the board, which is headed up by Michael Kaske.
