Inspecs won this year’s ”Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade for Outstanding Short-Term Growth” because of the strong expansion of its sales outside the U.K. over the last three years. As reported in the April 4 issue of EWI, only 22.8 percent of the group’s sales of $57.3 million came from the British market in 2018. The lion’s share came from Killine, the sourcing company that Inspecs bought in 2017, which represented about half of the group’s total turnover. The Bath-based company, which was listed on the London Stock Exchange in February, had already won in 2007 the award, which is granted to British businesses with outstanding performances. Inspecs is scheduled to receive the award at a reception at Buckingham Palace this summer.
