Organizers of opti have announced the launch of a new initiative aimed at “providing ophthalmic optics with a basis for identifying relevant trends at an early stage and working towards a succesful future (…).” The Trend Radar, as it has been called, is developed in cooperation with Trendone, an innovation and strategy consultancy based in Hamburg, and with selected industry experts.The program will examine 31 macro trends of our sector, regrouped in five major themes: work and culture, digitization and technology, communications and operations, values and sustainability and eye health and new markets. 

The trade fair is calling for opticians, association experts and industry representatives to participate in the trend evaluation until Sept. 30. Opti said that it would publish the results of the survey and that it would benefit the entire industry. The identified trends will be presented and discussed during the next edition of the show in Munich from Jan. 12 to 14, 2024.
