Vision-Ease has assured customers that there will be no interruption in deliveries of a wide variety of polarized, photochromic, multi-focal and progressive lenses, in spite of a fire that destroyed last month a large part of its production facilities in Jakarta, Indonesia, due to an electrical short circuit. The American company will boost production at its U.S. plant in Minnesota to help fill the gap before a new facility becomes operational in Indonesia by the summer of 2010. On the other hand, Vision-Ease has been forced to suspend temporarily delivery of glass lenses and its FSV lines.
