Visitors can expect to find many new features at the International Vision Expo & Conference scheduled for March 16-20 in New York.
New to the fair this year is Vision Mobile technology. Via their smartphones or other mobile devices, Vision Expo visitors will be able to plan their show, make appointments with exhibitors they wish to see, explore exhibitor show specials and quickly navigate the show floor via interactive maps on their devices.
For this year's event, the Underground and the Galleria are going to move to the new North Hall of the Jacob K. Javits Center. The space has no columns blocking any views, and it will allow customers to see the latest eyewear trends and new designers' work in a boutique-like setting.
Visitors to the show will be able to take advantage of numerous specials, including discounts, gifts and celebrity appearances. To date, 167 exhibitors say they will introduce a new product, offer discounts, host a celebrity event, have a party or offer a free gift in their booth at the show. In many cases, exhibitors plan to offer multiple specials.
The Management & Business Academy, dubbed MBA, which has been created by Ciba Vision and Essilor, will have a presence at the fair. Endorsed by the American Optometric Association and the Vision Council, it will provide opticians with continuing education on topics such as staff management, strategies for expanding practices and using market research.
