Vision-X, Middle East's largest optical trade show, will have much higher participation this year in Dubai, on Nov- 25-27, as the 15th edition of the event is preparing to host 125 new exhibitors, doubling the numbers to more than 250. The increase in the number of participating companies will bring about a 70 percent growth in total exhibition space compared with last year. According to GfK, the global retail intelligence specialist and Vision-X sponsor, around 800 optician outlets have opened across the UAE and Saudi Arabia in the last four years alone, highlighting tremendous regional growth in an increasingly competitive global industry. For the first time in the Middle East, GfK will utilize Vision-X to reveal new insights into the global optical industry and share data obtained from its GfK Optician Census study. The recent study of regional optician outlets highlights the vitality of the UAE and Saudi markets as well as the countries' mall-centric retail culture, reflected in the choice by 60 percent of Dubai-based opticians for outlets in high-traffic shopping centers.
