Visual, the 4th largest buying group in the French optical retail market, has elected Jacques Perrin, an optician with several shops in the area of Perpignan, as its chairman. He replaces Jacques Durenne who has been in charge for 6 years. Visual has also set up a new sales division, formed of 15 persons who will help some 285 managers in the 385 affiliated stores to develop their sales action in a more coordinated manner. The department will be headed up by Hubert Castelain, who has been involved in business development for Visual since 1997. His functions will be split between two regional directors. Visual's retail members raised their sales by 14 percent to €165 million in 2002, and the group hopes to add 35-40 more outlets this year.
