Walgreens Boots Alliance, the parent company of Boots Opticians, has named Stefano Pessina as its chief executive. Pessina, 73, led Alliance Boots prior to its merger with Walgreens, and had been serving as acting chief executive since January. He will continue to report to James Skinner, the group's executive chairman.
