Wires Glasses has announced a seed investment from True Ventures, a venture capital firm based in Silicon Valley, which will help launch an innovative, modular eyewear collection. The amount of the investment has not been disclosed. Wires Glasses was founded in 2017 by Yair Neuman, a London-based designer. The company has created a collection of eyewear that can evolve as the wearer's style preferences change. Each pair is crafted with a foundational wire frame that pairs with lens rims in different shapes and colors. The frames are equipped with an invisible hinge mechanism that allows the arms, or temples, to fold as a result of geometry. The new funds will also help Wires Glasses' direct-to-consumer strategy, including building its e-commerce site and selling its eyewear in exclusive boutiques in the U.S. and Europe, the company said in a statement.
