Xavier Fontanet, chairman and CEO of Essilor International, has been awarded the French Legion of Honor. His predecessor in the post, Gérard Cottet, praised his work during the ceremony. Fontanet, who is now 51 years old, joined Essilor as general manager in 1986. He became chairman and CEO in 1998.
