The Association of Optometrists (AOP) in the U.K. announced in May that it received more than 3,800 legal and regulatory inquiries in 2015, up 32 percent from 2014. The inquiries mostly concerned employment issues, followed by queries regarding general ophthalmic services and patients' complaints. The AOP also recorded a 6 percent increase in membership, partly because membership fees were frozen for the sixth consecutive year.
